The development process of the Grip Equipment Tour Line began during college while I was studying Industrial Design at the University of Kansas.
I worked for four semesters gathering data about disc golfers. I collected hundreds of surveys about playing habits, demographics, and equipment. I took photos and spent many hours interviewing casual players as well as the world's best pros and simply observing their habits and traits in preparation, during, and after play.
My thesis project centered around a very small bag at the time but then after graduating, I had the opportunity to design for the world's best players and the Tour Line was born.
This gallery documents some of the major stepping stones along the way from sketches and mockups in 2009, to fully functional prototype development in 2010, all the way to full production of the first L Series in 2011.
